As far as early 2013 hype goes, few records have received the attention Foxygen’s forthcoming debut full-length We Are The 21st Century Ambassadors Of Peace And Magic has been getting. As ridiculous as their name is and as pretentious as their Wes Anderson-worshiping video for “San Francisco” released last week was their brand of quirky ’60s psych-pop is too darn easy on the ears to hate.
The album releases on Jagjaguwar on Jan. 22, but thanks to Pitchfork we don’t have to wait to hear it in its entirety. I’m streaming it now on my computer and you should too, even if it’s just to make fun.
