Only two years removed from Mark Foley and his infamous erotic instant messages to teenage pages, Florida is making the wrong kind of political headlines again.
In a story that is sure to have enough legs to support a dining room table, ABC News has reported that Foley’s successor, the guy who was going to restore morality to the scandal-ridden Florida congressional seat, reportedly cut a check for $121,000 to settle a dispute with his ex-mistress and ex-staffer.
Talk about a wheelbarrow of hush money.
Since Foley was a Republican and Tim Mahoney is a Democrat, does that mean its the Republican party’s turn to have a pol get all self-righteous about restoring morality and fall flat on his or her less than two years later? What’s with the water there in Florida’s 16th congressional district anyway?
